Bodnant Welsh Food Centre is located at Furnace Farm, in the stunning surroundings of the Conwy Valley. Originally built in the 18th century, the buildings have been lovingly restored to provide an excellent venue for the farm shop, tea room, restaurant, cookery school, bee centre and farmhouse accommodation.
At Bodnant Welsh Food Centre we are passionate about traditional Welsh food, and take every opportunity to bring you the delicious produce available both from Bodnant estate and also from carefully selected local producers.
Everything you can taste at Bodnant is available to purchase from the Farm Shop, so you can take your dining experience home with you. The farm shop is full of delicious pies in the delicatessen and breads baked that morning in the bakery, fresh local meats from the butchery, cheese, ice cream and butter all made in the on-site dairy, seasonal vegetables, locally made produce including; confectionary, preserves, chutneys, sauces, cakes fruit, not to mention the extensive local choice of local ales and beers. You really will be spoilt for choice.
Sample the mouth-watering cakes that are made fresh every morning in the on-site bakery including the famous Bodnant Bun! All dishes on the menu are made from scratch using fresh ingredients every time. If you visit, you must try the hot chocolate with marshmallows or the Bodnant squirrel flavour ice cream (which is made in the dairy at Bodnant Welsh Food, we can reassure you, no squirrels were harmed making this ice cream), they are really tasty.
The beautiful and relaxed Hayloft restaurant has a seasonally designed menu to showcase the amazing produce available locally or from the farm shop butchery, bakery and dairy. The exec Head chef hand-picks the ingredients to bring you an authentic “taste of Wales” that you will want to return for!
In September 2013, the Wine Cellar opened its doors and became the new addition to Bodnant Welsh Food. The Wine Cellar has over 190 different world fine wines to choose from including; Patagonia, Hungarian, Russian, French and hedgerow wines produced in Wales!
The cosy Bed and Breakfast accommodation is located in the 18th Century Furnace Farm House and all rooms are beautifully decorated, with home from home comforts. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom, hair dryer, flat screen TV, Tea/coffee making facilities with Bodnant baked short bread, toilets and free Wi-Fi. Eachroom has access to the lounge area and mini kitchenette. This is the perfect place to relax, unwind or after a day of exploring the countryside, shopping, walking, cycling or cooking on one of the fantastic cookery experiences that are on offer in the cookery school.
If you’re inspired by what you see and taste then you can beef up your own culinary skills with an experience in the state-of-the-art Bodnant Cookery School. All experiences are suitable for all levels, as each group consists of no more than 10 guests, the chef is able to spend time with you and explain different techniques. Everything you make you can take home and you also get to take home recipe cards so that you can re-create the dishes for your friends and family.
We’re the Bees Knees
In the courtyard you will find the National Beekeeping Centre of Wales, selling local honey and also honey based beauty products, the team at Bodnant are happy to share with you the importance of Bees and the shop itself is full of information regarding our little friends.
