Join us for Summer Sounds - a packed programme of music on the bandstand at Strawberry Field. With free music events happening every weekend throughout the summer, Summer Sounds is the perfect family day out. Bring along your picnic blankets and deckchairs, and enjoy music in the garden as John Lennon did as a child.
Live on the bandstand on Sunday 21st July is Frank Griffith.
American saxist and clarinetist, Frank Griffith, has been resident in the UK since 1996 and his Nonet appeared regularly at the Ealing Jazz Festival, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Pizza Express and Ronnie Scotts in London. Frank has also worked with Sir John Dankworth, Dame Cleo Lane, Mel Torme and Lionel Hampton. Now resident in Liverpool, Frank plays frequently for Parr Street Jazz events. He also appeared at the 2020 Southport Jazz Festival with vocalist, Tina May. Frank's monthly radio programme "The Jazz Cavern" can be heard on Liverpool Community Radio.
Doors open from 10am with performances starting at 2pm. Free entry, but donations are welcome and appreciated.
Please note that there is no seating in the garden. Feel free to bring your own chairs and picnic blankets. Food and drink will be available to purchase in the Imagine More café.
