Bring along your picnic blankets and deckchairs, and enjoy music in the garden as John Lennon did as a child.

Live on the bandstand on Saturday 8th June is the Liverpool Walton Salvation Army Band.

The Liverpool Walton Band of the Salvation Army is a group of talented and dedicated brass players and is 31 in size. Players are all members of the Salvation Army church and range in age from mid-teens to their 70's. Members share a desire to praise God through playing their instruments. The band was established in 1885, 4 years after the corps opening. Still today, nearly 140 years later, the band plays an essential part in our worship at Liverpool Walton, and in delivering the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in the great City of Liverpool.

The Band regularly played at Strawberry Field children's home in the days that John Lennon would visit, and today can be seen bringing the message of the gospel at events in the city, such as LightNight and religious festivals like the Pentecost Pageant.

Doors open from 10am with performances starting at 2pm. Free entry, but donations are welcome and appreciated.

Please note that there is no seating in the garden. Feel free to bring your own chairs and picnic blankets. Food and drink will be available to purchase in the Imagine More café.
