While it is not a requirement, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) highly recommends that individuals who hold qualifications as First Aiders or Emergency First Aiders participate in an annual refresher course to ensure that their skills are up-to-date. The qualification period for both groups of First Aiders is three years; however, it has been determined that this length of time is too long without any additional training.
