Liverpool Waters scheme gets government Approval

Communities Secretary approves the Huge Skyscraper planned by Peel Holding in Liverpool's northern docklands. The scheme will cost £5.5bn and will be phased over a 30 year period. It falls within the Liverpool Maritime and Mercantile World Heritage Site and its Buffer Zone. There had been some concern about the sheer size of the development and its impact on the Liverpool World Heritage site. However Eric Pickles, the Communities Secretary decided not to interfere.
