Liverpool University Tuition Fees Aiming High
17th March 2011

Liverpool University is a wonderful choice to make if you are looking at continuing in education after you leave school.  This is reflected in the news today where reports suggest that the University will be asking the maximum level of tuition fees. This will amount to £9000 per year and follows other Universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, Exeter, Durham and Lees and the Imperial College.

It is planned that the higher tuition fees will go towards enhancing the experience of all students who are accepted onto an undergraduate, postgraduate degree or online course.

Nothing Is Set In Stone

As yet nothing has been confirmed as there are some procedures which need to be carried out first. A university council meeting is being held on March 30th where the proposal will be discussed in depth.  If they plan to go ahead with the proposal it will then be looked at by the Office of Fair Access.  They will have the final say in allowing the £9000 fees per year.

Liverpool University is hoping that by charging more they will be able to invest more money in improving the student’s experiences at their University and also that it will help to secure their place in the Russell Group for widening access.
