Eating out in Crosby & Waterloo.
Another glimmer of hope on the Restaurant front! We went to the new Mexican Restaurant – La Parrilla – on South Road on Saturday night. It’s a pity that the new restaurants are appearing in Waterloo when we really need a bit of investment in Crosby village. The Fat Italian has helped greatly but I’m sure there is a little worry still for businesses opening in the village with the Sainsburys development on the horizon. Hopefully, the local traders will weather the storm over the next couple of years to benefit from a revitalised town centre.

Anyway – the good news is that the food, service and staff are fantastic and they look like they have hit the ground running with 90% occupancy at 9pm - and they have only been open a matter of weeks. I think it pays to spend on quality fixtures and fittings, which they have done, and the place is a credit to them. It’s also nice to be able to see what’s going on in the busy kitchen. We’ve already had some good feedback from friends and through the site and although it early days we would love to feature them on the site as thebestof if they continue in the right direction. Alex, who runs the place, is efficient, friendly and extremely laid back even when the pressure mounts – tell him we recommended them and I’m sure he will be pleased.
