8th April 2011

Well the holidays have arrived and thankfully so have the warm sunny weather.  This is a great time to get the kids off their computers and away from the television and get some good old fashioned fresh air.  Liverpool has some excellent activities to help mums, dads and babysitters keep children of all ages entertained.   An Easter egg hunt is the perfect way to burn off some energy.  Here are some of the places where you can go and take part in the hunt and have a great day out as a family.

Church Farm, Thurstaston: 0151 648 7838

This is a sixty acre organic farm with lots of fun for all the family.  Within the grounds is a play area, and animal trail and you can meet some of the lovely animals which make the farm their home.  From April 22 to April 25 2011 the farm is holding an Easter Egg Hunt.  Work together as a family to solve the puzzles and be rewarded by a cute bunny who will give the children a delicious chocolate prize.

While you are there why not have a ride in the tractor in the forest which runs from 10am to 4pm.  You can also dunk basket balls, hook a duck, play on the sea saw, target practice and play i-spy. You need a ticket to enter the park which cost £7.50 if purchased online or £8.00 when you arrive.  Children under 12 months can come for free but must be carried in the forest and on the trailer.

Sefton Park Palm House, Liverpool: 0151 726 2415

Visit the amazing building and admire its unusual architecture.  Adults and children are encouraged to see some of the amazing plant life and statues found both inside and out the remarkable landmark.

On 13 April 2011 why not go along to the Easter Party and Egg hunt which starts at 1pm.  There will be music and lots of things to keep the children busy.  Tickets are just £2 per person and you can purchase them by visiting wegotickets.com/event/111114.

Croxteth Hall & Country Park, Liverpool, 0151 233 6910

Croxteth Country Park is reducing the price of visiting the farm during lambing season.  This is a great opportunity to admire the grounds and see some of the new born lambs jump around in the gorgeous spring weather.  The reductions are in place up to April 24 2011 costing just £2.50 for adults and £1.80 for concessions.

After you have seen the lambs why not take the children up to the main hall.  There will be donkey rides on offer from April 3 to April 17.  The donkeys can be found by the entrance to the gift shop, and if you are lucky you might get the opportunity to have a ride in a horse drawn carriage.

The Easter Egg hunt gives your children the chance to win a ‘Golden Ticket’ All entrants will be put into a prize draw and 4 lucky winners will be given a tour of The Chocolate Cellar!  The hunt is puzzle based, find the eggs, note down the letter and unscramble them to find a seasonal word.
