A site in Birkenhead has been earmarked for a business park specialising in the offshore windfarms. Wirral council is proposing to buy the site and Pat Hackett, council cabinet member for regeneration, said the site "will give us much-needed industrial space". The Council hopes it will be completed for the International Festival of Business to be held in 2014.
On the jobs created, Cllr. Hackett said "We are talking about hundreds of new jobs which will be much- needed at a time like this."
