The Vitreum - John Haslam
19 April - 18 May 2010
John Haslam is probably one of Crosby's best known artists. His work will be hosted at the Vitreum Art Gallery, in Merchant Taylor’s Girls School. The Vitreum continues to celebrate local and regional talent in Merseyside’s only school gallery.
John Haslam has taught Art and Design to students in Liverpool and Birkenhead. He has been Art Director to an international arts magazine and employed his administration skills as a Studio Manager for several companies and advertising agencies. His work is mixed and varied. It ranges from illustrating children's books to undertaking personal commissions for portraits.
His paintings are often commissioned by private collectors throughout this country, the USA and many European cities. John is also noted for his ability as a watercolour artist. He has previously won the Pro-Arte prize at the British Watercolour Summer Exhibition and was winner of the judges' prize at The British Society of Painters Autumn Exhibition.
His work has been exhibited at The Sunday Times Exhibition of Watercolour Paintings at The Mall Galleries, London, and at the Barbizon Gallery, Glasgow.
