On Friday 7th August from 1 pm, Care UK’s Louth Manor will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Visitors to the Legbourne Road home can look forward to an Italian-themed food festival, featuring an array of Italian classics including lasagna, carbonara and tiramisu.
One resident commented, “I'm really looking forward to our Italian themed day. I like Italian food, especially lasagne, and it's lovely that we'll all be able to enjoy good food, good company and make some happy memories together."
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
Lucy Blackburn, Home Manager at Louth Manor, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the local community to our very own food festival!
“We are part of a strong community here in Louth, and days like this are a wonderful way of bringing people together to celebrate our shared love of food, while giving residents the opportunity to share their favourite recipes and traditions with younger generations.
“The day not only promises a lot of laughter, but it is also an excellent way for residents to meet and mingle with lots of new faces – and some familiar ones. We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”
