My name is Mia and I am the owner of Natural Re-aligning and Healing Therapies which started up as a part-time business on 1st August 2014 while working at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a Care Manager. I have worked in a variety of health and care settings for 20 years, initially qualifying as a Social Worker with BA(Hons) in Social Sciences with Diploma in Social Work, COSCA Certificate in Counselling skills and INSYT Foundation Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy. I then developed an interest in complementary therapies, which I found complimented the work I was doing with young people and adults suffering from not only the physical aspects of pain but also the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, abuse and loss.
I am now qualified in a range of therapies that correct misalignments in the joints and the spine, thereby addressing conditions in the body caused by back and joint pain in addition to addressing the effects of loss, trauma and abuse.
Like many therapists my grounding started in the natural therapies of Reiki and Indian Head Massage. Gaining a deep understanding of the incredible effects of energy medicine and the power of the mind with its potential to heal us from all manners of pain and discomfort.
I use a combination of physical therapy and energy medicine, taking a holistic approach to healing. In addition to correcting the physical aspects of the pain, consideration is given to muscle and cellular memory and how we release the deeper aspects of the pain that seems to return no matter how many different forms of traditional and complimentary therapies we try. This holistic approach brings people to a place where they find themselves on the journey to being pain free.
