Lichfield Garrick scoops Best Business Award
The Best of Lichfield is delighted to see that the Garrick has been recognised locally; aren’t we lucky to have such a great theatre on our doorstep!
On Tuesday 6 July, the Lichfield Garrick played host to the prestigious annual Chamber of Trade and Commerce Awards.
The awards evening featured guest speaker General Sir Mike Jackson - one of the British Armed Forces most distinguished senior officers - who started the evening off with a fascinating talk on his career and experiences during his many years of military service. The general then went on to present the awards in each of the eleven categories.
The Lichfield Garrick won Best Entertainment/Arts Attraction in Lichfield for the third year running, and went on to win the coveted Best Overall Business award for the first time.
Adrian Jackson, Lichfield Garrick’s Artistic and Executive Director, said: “The Chamber of Trade and Commerce Awards are so important to local and national businesses in Lichfield, and I was delighted that the Garrick won Best Entertainment/Arts Attraction for the third year running. The icing on the cake was definitely being presented with the Best Overall Business Award. This is a great achievement for the Garrick and is a real credit to the dedicated staff who work at the theatre. I am very proud of the team for their hard work and commitment, and I would like to thank everyone who voted for us, we are thrilled to have won.”
Residents and visitors to Lichfield cast their votes in April and May. More than 1,100 people voted, with over 500 businesses receiving votes in the eleven categories.
