As the nation mourns the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lichfield Cathedral is welcoming people as they grieve. It offers its tranquillity as a setting for respectful remembrance.
People across the Lichfield District are invited to gather in the city, and in Burntwood, on Sunday, 18 September, to join the nation in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Continuing the yearlong theme of ‘your cathedral’, Lichfield Cathedral will be hosting a whole programme of activities and events during the summer of 2022.
Lichfield Cathedral has been recognised as dementia-friendly and awarded a certificate signed by the Bishop of Lichfield, the Rt Rev Dr Michael Ipgrave in honour of the efforts that have gone into the achievement. The certificate recognises that the cathedral is taking action on recognising the need to do more for people with dementia and their families.
A magical last-minute change in the weather turned the St Giles Hospice Enchanted Solstice Walk into a special night to remember for hundreds of fairies, elves and wizards on Saturday (18 June).
