There are some organisations that quietly get on with making a real difference, day in, day out, without shouting about it.  Regenerage is one of those charities, and it is a pleasure to welcome them into our network.

Based in Leyland, Regenerage has been supporting older people across Lancashire for over 40 years. Formerly known as Age Concern Preston, the charity has grown and evolved over time, but its purpose has always stayed the same: helping people age well, feel valued and stay connected to their communities. In a world that can sometimes move too fast, Regenerage is there to slow things down, listen and offer support where it really matters.

So what does that support look like in everyday life? For many, it starts with understanding. Regenerage works closely with older people, those living with dementia, carers and families who may be feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. Through dementia support, community link services and home visits, the charity helps people feel less alone and more confident about the next steps. Because sometimes, just knowing someone is there can make all the difference.

Regenerage also runs activity and day centres that offer more than just something to do. These welcoming spaces give people the chance to socialise, build friendships and enjoy a sense of routine and purpose. After all, who says later life should be quiet or lonely? From shared meals to meaningful conversations, these sessions are about connection, dignity and enjoying life, whatever your age.

Carers are not forgotten either. Caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting. Regenerage provides advice, guidance and support for carers, helping them navigate challenges while reminding them they do not have to do everything alone. It is a thoughtful, people-first approach that runs through everything the charity does.

While Regenerage is best known for its community services, its Leyland charity shop also plays an important supporting role. Every donation and purchase helps fund the charity’s work across Lancashire, turning everyday generosity into practical support for those who need it most. It is a simple idea, but a powerful one.
