Crowborough care home invites veterans to a special breakfast club
  • Heather View, Beacon Rd, Crowborough
    TN6 1AS
  • Wednesday 22nd April 8:30am until 10:00am
A care home in Crowborough is inviting members of the community who have served, or are serving, in the Armed Forces to a special breakfast.

On Wednesday 22nd April, from 8.30am10am, and every fourth Wednesday of each month, Care UK’s Heather View on Beacon Road, will be hosting a veterans breakfast club, giving residents and Crowborough locals a chance to meet and mingle with people who have served in the Armed Forces.

On the day, guests will have the opportunity to chat with residents, sharing their stories and memories of their younger days, all while enjoying a tasty breakfast specially made by the home’s talented head chef.

Heather View is accredited by the Veteran Friendly Framework – a collaboration between several armed forces charities. To achieve this status, they had to meet eight key standards, including noting Armed Forces status within care plans, addressing social isolation, and signposting to support services, such as their local Royal British Legion branch and other charities that provide support for veterans or their partners.

Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Reservations can be made by contacting the Customer Relations Manager, Amy Gullett by Friday 17th April.

Sadie Hudson, Home Manager at Heather View, said: We’re delighted to be hosting the veterans breakfast club here at Heather View.

It’s incredibly important to us that members of the Armed Forces community feel recognised and appreciated. This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude to those who have served, including residents within our home. We’re proud to create a welcoming space where people can share stories, enjoy good company, and connect with others, especially those who may not always have someone to talk to.

“We’re really looking forward to bringing everyone together to enjoy a hearty breakfast, make new friendships, and honour the remarkable individuals who have served our country.”

Heather View has been designed to deliver the highest standards of care, and to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, and has plenty of space for activities. Facilities at the home include a pub, music room, hair and beauty salon and café.
