On Saturday 8th August from 1pm–3pm, Care UK’s Heather View will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection. 

Visitors to the Beacon Roadhome can look forward to a Hawaiian-themed barbecue, where the garden will be decorated with bright colours and guests can tap their feet away to live entertainmentfromMini Concerts. 

All funds raised on the day will be donated to Liver UK, the country’s leading charity working to reduce the impact of liver disease. 

Resident Jill said:“I am looking forward to trying the Hawaiian-themed BBQ and having a go on the coconut shy!” 

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which willseeCare UK homes across the countryhost foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
