Fireworks shortage for Bonfire Night 2011 forecast

Every year there seems to be a story in the firework trade  that there will be a shortage of fireworks for Bonfire Night, yet it never seems to happen.

2011 though could be the year there is a shortage. High temperatures in the main firework producing province in China has meant that the Chinese government have stopped the manufacture of all fireworks for a month. This timing is quite crucial as this is the time of the year that the fireworks are manufactured for the UK market. Combined with this is the recent trajedy of one of the smaller container ships capsizing with 16 containers detstined for the UK market. One of the largest UK importers has also gone in administration and whilst they hhave stock in the UK already to supply once it has gone there will be no more coming this year.

Most of our fireworks though are already at sea and are destined to dock at Felixstowe within the next month but we have been warned by some suppliers that some items could be arriving very late in the season.

Our web site shows the fireworks for sale that are currently in stock and is updated daily to show new items as and when they become available.
