Having worked in the office supplies business for some 30 years
I have noticed many changes .The biggest change by far is computerisation
Moving from manual systems to computer systems. These systems cover
such areas as Invoicing, delivery, stock control, debt collection, management
accounts, and many others.
Another area is social media, Face book, Twitter, Bloggs. If you are not using it you are not capitalising on capturing extra business via the internet .
The internet is now the most powerful sales tool in the market place, not just
in the office supplies business, but in all sales environments.
This all comes down to employing new people with new skill sets .and of course managing the change!!! How are you doing? Are you winning and is it worth it?
