King's Lynn & West Norfolk Scam Alert - Lottery Prize Draw
6th December 2011
... Comments

Trading Standards often receives complaints about lottery prize scams.

Residents may receive a telephone call, letter or email stating that they have won a lottery prize and they will usually be asked to pay a fee to receive a cheque for their prize. A legitimate lottery would never make you pay to receive your prize and if you haven't entered into a lottery then you won't be eligible to win one.

Unfortunately, once someone has been targeted and has lost money to a scam their details get sold on which means they are inundated by scam mailings and calls.
