50-pence activities return for half-term
19th February 2011

Street dance, football and table tennis are amongst the sports on offer to people aged 5 - 19 in King's Lynn this half-term (21-25 February).

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, Cabinet Member for Sports, Arts and open Spaces, said: “Through our Let’s Get Active campaign we have tried to encourage as many people as possible to get involved in regular activity and to help them overcome the barriers to sport. Cost often stops people, particularly families who might have several children, from getting involved in sports, so we were keen to offer the 50p programme again this half-term.”

Adam Garford, Urban Sports Motivator, said: “Half-term is a great time to try a new sport or to take part in a tournament. There’ll be a chance to make new friends, get active and pick up sports skills.”

Activities take place at a variety of venues across the town’s main neighbourhoods, including the Gaywood, Fairstead, North Lynn, South Lynn and The Walks multi-use games areas (MUGAS) and Providence Street Youth Centre.
