The 2011-2012 rubbish and recycling calendars have now been distributed to every household in West Norfolk.  The calendars detail collection dates for the next twelve months and include Christmas, New Year and bank holiday arrangements.

For households with wheeled black and green bins, the new 2011 - 2012 calendars can be found on top of their bin lids.  Residents living in areas where sacks are used should have received a booklet through their door detailing their domestic waste collections for the next year.

Residents who have not yet received their new calendars should contact the Borough Council's helpdesk on 01553 776676 as soon as possible or log onto www.west-norfolk.gov.uk and fill in one of the council's electronic 'Contact Us' forms to request a new calendar.

Cllr Brian Long, Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, said: “The quick-reference collection calendars are designed to ensure that residents can easily find out when they should put out their bin(s) for collection.  The recycling calendars also include a list of items which can be put into the bins for recycling to help residents sort their rubbish correctly and avoid contamination.

“We’ve also included information on the calendars setting out the collection arrangements for next year’s additional bank holiday to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, so people will know well in advance when their bins will be emptied.”

Residents who subscribe to the brown bin (garden waste scheme) will receive new collection calendars in the next few weeks.
