We spent seven hours at Jersey Zoo - it was a fantastic day out. There are so many fantastic animals to see, from the newly arrived otters to chimpanzees, orangutans, gorillas, reptiles, meerkats, flamingos and more. Mine and my daughter's favourite part was the wonderful Butterfly Kaleidoscope where there were so many different species flying around and - if you were lucky - landing on you. It was also extremely interesting to read about conservation expert Gerald Durrell who started the Zoo and changed the way Zoos operated. His life story is told in a designated room with boards to read and a multitude of photographs. The charity shop on the site to raise funds for the Durrell Trust is also amazing and returned on another day to visit that, spending an hour browsing its massive selection of preloved goods.

Wonderful zoo with plenty to see for all ages. Pleased to know they are still supporting projects in the wild and various breeding programs.
Several animals are more active in the morning, especially when they get fed, so easier to see.
Got to see the new giant otters who were enjoying their new enclosure and having a lot of fun in the water!

Overall great place! We spent there more than 2,5 hours. Did not eat, just observed animals. Two things to mention. 1. Aye-Aye, who is promised to be displayed, is actually not. You step into dark room and see nothing....So, to be honest, they keep it in the Zoo, but not " display". 2. Bats' tunnel is closed for some reconstruction.....during the high season, summer kids holidays. It is obvious, that kids like such creepy stuff more than birds etc...

Outstanding morning at the Jersey zoo. Lovely big enclosures - nothing like zoos of yesterday. Well worth a visit. The Durrell story is inspiring. Great for young and old. Very educational.

Lovely little zoo, no massive animals (bigs cats, bears etc) but all the animals seemed happy and the enclosures were some of the best I've seen
