A community event run every 3 weeks around the island where volunteer fixers help Islanders to repair any household items they bring along, in a friendly café environment with refreshments and live music.
This month is a special event being run with Highlands College at the Philip Mourant Adult Education Centre in Trinity (opposite Acorn).
Items can include clothing and fabrics, bicycles and e-bikes, toys and gadgets, computers and tech, ornaments and sometimes small items of furniture, electronics and electricals - basically, anything you might have at home. If you can carry it, we'll see if we can fix it.
It's a Parish initiative with aims including doing our bit for the environment by repairing and saving things from ‘the dump’ but also helping people see how it's possible to repair rather than ‘recycle’ or replace, all in a friendly and social environment.
