Seeking a gift with a difference for a loved one? How about a gift from Durrell that is unusual but also supports their wonderful work in Jersey and worldwide.
A Gift with a difference that will also help support the work of Durrell in Jersey and worldwide.
The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust has almost half a century of success at saving species from extinction—both in the wild and through groundbreaking conservation breeding at our headquarters in Jersey. Now you can give a gift to a loved one so they can join our team in Jersey for a day, helping our experienced staff care for our animals. It’s an opportunity for them to gain a unique insight into the work of Durrell in Jersey and have a memorable day.
Your gift will mean that they will be a temporary member of the Durrell mammal staff, assisting Jersey keepers with:
• Preparing food and feeding animals • Cleaning enclosures • Checking on the animals’ welfare • Other important parts of their daily routines
They will have the opportunity to see all aspects of the work of the Jersey mammal department.
Examples of the specific tasks you may be involved with:
• Changing the bedding for our family of western lowland gorillas • feeding our pair of Andean bears • preparing challenging food puzzles for our intelligent macaque monkeys.
To benefit from this gift applicants must be over 18 years of age and physically fit.
They will have a full day with us in Jersey — arrive at 8.30, leave at 5.30
Cost: £150 for the day. The price includes a surprise gift at the end of the day
They must be prepared to finish the experience tired, filthy, yet fully satisfied!
Also please remember the Durrell Gift Shop, for unusual gifts for both young and old, you can be sure of a large selection at reasonable prices. Entry to the gift shop is free and as well as obtaining a gift that is sure to please you will be supporting Durrell in their world wide conservation effort.
Went to Durrell with the family over Easter, as always a treat for the kids and with new babies and the bears to see we had a very enjoyable few hours. Keep up the good work.
I always visit Durrell when in Jersey, great way to spend a few hours and always something new to see. I love Durrell's commitment to breeding endangered species.
I was brought up on Durrell’s books a firm family favourite and this is my second visit to Jersey and the park. It’s more beautiful and a great testament to a great
man's vision. Keep up the good work....
