Led by two of our founding board members Peter Barber OBE and Nick Peacey MBE for a fascinating tour of the House and its history:
Discover the secret trompe l’oeil behind the stair case panels.
Hear about Lord Lauderdale’s collection of books which nearly brought the House down.
Understand the history of the ‘moving front door’.
Find out what really went on at the archaeological parties in the 1800’s.
And why the workmen in in 1582 bricked in chickens, candlesticks and shoes behind the fireplace.
Peter will lead the 11am tour, and Nick will lead the 2pm tour.
Lauderdale House is delighted to offer these free tours as part of the Open House Festival, a London-wide festival that opens up and celebrates the city’s architecture, special sites and neighbourhoods.
The tours are free of charge but due to high demand we kindly ask you to book a slot so the experience can be as pleasant as possible.
