On Thursday 6th August from 2pm–5pm, Care UK’s Muriel Street will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Visitors to the Muriel Streethome can look forward to indulging in the residents’ favourite cuisines, with stalls serving up Filipino street food, Caribbean and Mexican dishes. Guests can tap their feet away to live entertainment from local artist Marco, who will be transporting everyone back to the 60s and 70s.
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will seeCare UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Thefestival will offer a sustainable, community-focused initiative while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the home, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
