Welcome to my blog it’s Friday afternoon and I was busy up dating my site with new offers and events when I realised that I hadn’t given an introduction to my newest members in my blog. So in no particular order here are the newest members of The Best of Islington
Colibri Fashion is an independent fashion boutique on Upper Street in the heart of Islington. Set up a couple of years ago up in Highbury they recently moved down to Upper Street and what a great addition they are. While I’m not a great fashion expert my other half loves the shop and reliably informs me that they stock excellent European brands that are hard to come by in the UK. Click here to find out more
Mahal Indian Restaurant is a new addition to Islington in the spot where Sabor use to be and it is another fine addition to the area. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and warm. Raj the owner has been in the restaurant business for 20+ years and you can tell he knows what he’s doing. Already there’re several glowing reviews for them here
BTB Electrical is one of those shops that you never know you need until you need them. They sell almost any electrical item you can think of from lights and fitting to spark plugs. A family run business where you’ll meet generations of the family when you pop in. While a lot of their business in trade and wholesale they also have a retail arm for members of the public. Pop down to them on Caledonian road.
Highbury Self Storage is another well established independent business in Islington. In fact they’re the only independent storage company in the area and David the owner is a really great character. They don’t give silly introduction offer and bump up the price massively a couple of months later, they just give honest pricing that will save you money in the long term and a cracking service with a smile and a joke. The feature on them will go up next week.
Have a great weekend I’m off to a birthday party tonight at the Angelic, I haven’t been there for some time and while not my favourite place a few years back I’ll let you know my thoughts after tonight.
