New Years eve in Islington

So Christmas day has been and gone with far too much food and drink consumed. Luckily there's still time to party with New Year's Eve just a few days away.

Unfortunately I'm not staying in Islington for New years and instead heading off to Wales. I still thought I could give you a few places to go where you can see in the New Year in style.

First up I'd recommend popping down to The Island Queen. I've always liked this pub and I'm certainly not the only one as I can get very busy. The decor is great and it keeps that pub feel while attracting a young and hip crowd. On New Year's their holding a Swinging 60's New Year's Eve Party that goes on till 2am. Certainly worth checking out.

The Oak and Pastor as anyone who knows me is my favourite place in the Archway area and they're holding a New Year's dinner and dance with a live band hog roast and free entrance. Not sure what time they're staying open till but they have late license till 1am every weekend so I suspect you'll be able to get a drink until the early hours on New Year's. Details here

If you fancy a Turkish night out head to Pasha who'll be having live music, karaoke and a Turkish Elvis which I can't quite picture but should be fun all the same. Click here

While there's nothing particularly wrong with a Slug and Lettuce pub I personally couldn't imagine going to one on New Year's Eve. However if you're after a good comedy night Crack Comedy are holding one In the Upper Street pub in Islington and they usually do very good comedy nights.

These should give you a few options to enjoy New Year's Eve in Islington. Enjoy the night and I'm sure there'll be a few sore heads on the 1st!
