Hi folks,

The first response I've had regarding the Holloway by election is from David Kelly of the Lib Dems. See below why he thinks he would make a good addition to Islington council.

I have a proven track record as a local campaigner and as a former secretary of the Market Estate Tenants’ & Residents’ Association, worked alongside other residents in the area to secure the total regeneration of the estate. I sat on the Southern Housing Association Foundation and was a member of the main board helping representing tenants.

I have a collaborative working style with strong influencing skills. My work for Crisis and St Mungo’s, the homeless charities has given me an insight into the real differences and inequalities in our city.

My recent work for a large disability charity based in Kings Cross has really brought home to me the challenges that many people face. I would campaign to help give those in society who are marginalised a voice.

I am a keen environmental campaigner, I was a member of the Islington Environmental Forum after I helped set up the Friends of Cally Park. I cycle everywhere and am a member of the London Cycle Campaign and ICAG. I am a London Ambassador for the Olympic Games.

Living in the heart of Holloway I know the issues and would work on behalf of all the people of Islington.
