With festival season officially under way, a care home in Suffolk is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.

On Thursday 27th August, from 12-4pm, Care UK’s Asterbury Place will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

Guests can look forward to sampling a selection of residents' favourite dishes from around the world, from kangaroo burgers to bratwurst hot dogs, all prepared by the home’s Head Chef using local ingredients.

The events are part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
