The Hunts Phil Orchestra present Mahler's mighty Symphony No. 5!

Mahler Symphony No 5
Khachaturian Spartacus Suite No 2
Conductor Bjorn Bantock
£15 adults, £5 students/children
or on the door from 7pm

Following on from the choir’s November 2nd concert in Godmanchester, it is the turn of the Hunts Phil
Orchestra to entertain lovers of classical music on Saturday November 23rd at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre in Huntingdon.

They will perform Mahler’s mighty Symphony No. 5, along with Khachaturian’s Spartacus Suite No. 2. , conducted by Bjorn Bantock.

The poignant Adagietto of Mahler’s symphony was used to great effect in Visconti’s film adaptation of Thomas Mann’s novella ‘Death in Venice,’ but the emotional scope of the whole symphony is huge, with a fantastic finale.

The Adagio from the Spartacus Suite meanwhile will bring back memories of television’s ‘The Onedin Line’ from the 70s as it was the theme music for the popular long-running series.
