It will be tennis whites, strawberries and sunshine at Care UK’s Mere Hall on Strickland Drive, as the team welcomes the community on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July from 10-4 pm for friendly competition and nostalgic memories.
As part of the event, the home’s garden will be transformed into a mini Centre Court, complete with decorations, sun visors and, of course, strawberries and cream. Residents, team members and guests will also participate in some gentle tennis-themed activities.
Alongside the celebrations, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the home’s team members and take a tour around the building, which has its very own hair and beauty salon, bowling green and bar.
Attendees can also snack on refreshments specially prepared by the home’s Head Chef while listening to music from Local Trio - Fish, Chip and Scraps and watching live screenings of the tennis finals.
Rachel, Home Manager at Mere Hall, said: “With Wimbledon returning to our screens, we have so many residents excited to watch the matches. What better way to celebrate than by hosting our very own themed event for all to enjoy?
“We have a really exciting afternoon of activities planned, plus some delicious food to try. We expect it will be a popular event, and we’d like to encourage people to come and take a look around the home’s facilities, meet the team and see for themselves just how special life at Mere Hall can be.
“We’re incredibly proud of the warm and welcoming environment we’re creating and are looking forward to meeting the people of Hornsea!”
Mere Hall provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, the home incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities.
