
Care UK’s Martlet Manor will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Martlet Manor will be a foodie’s dream as its South African-themed barbecue offers up tasty treats, created by its very own South African chef. From 11am–4pm on Wednesday 12th August, the Haywards Heath care home will be a chance to tap your feet away to live family-friendly entertainment.
Resident Phillippa Warner, 85, said:“I’m most excited for the South African themed barbecueso I can reminisce of the time I lived there. ButI’m most excited for the fabulous food cooked by our very own South African chef!”
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the countryhost foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipesto seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
