The Group was first registered on 18 December 1929 and over the years has offered youngsters a vast range of Scouting activities and experiences. At the start of 2012, membership totalled over 97 young people (the biggest in the District). We have a committed Leadership team, which is supported by a Group Executive Committee comprising of Parents and ex-Leaders. All adults are (non-paid) volunteers.
If you have a child who is interested in joining or you have moved to Hitchin and wish to transfer membership, then please do contact us using the appropriate tab above.
Alternatively, maybe you were previously a Cub or Scout, are now over 18 and wish to join our Leadership team. Please do get in contact. (All adults are required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) form). With our current large membership numbers and very active waiting lists, we can never have too much help! With more Adults we can open up the opportunity for more young people to join Scouting.
