Join us for an informative foraging walk where we will ID the various wild plants and mushrooms we find. Enjoy homemade refreshment along the way and a light 'Wild Food' lunch with us to finish the day.
Eastnor Castle Deer Park's mixture of parkland and wooded areas, provide a variety of wild plants and mushrooms throughout the year. We will meet in the deer park, at the point shown on the map on our website. The course begins with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes. Then we’ll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the deer park and the castle grounds, teaching you how to identify the different plants and mushrooms that we find. We will stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments such as our lovely wild mushroom soup. After the walk we will end the day with a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found. After the course, we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
