The team at Tring’s newest care home is preparing to open its doors for its grand launch event.
Care UK’s Eggleton House will be welcoming the local community – along with a VIP visitor – to Miswell Lane on Wednesday 30th September from 2pm–4pm to join the celebrations. With the first residents having moved into the building in July, everyone at the home is now gearing up for its official opening. Cutting the ribbon will be Mayor of Tring Councillor Carol Nutkins. On arrival, guests will be met by the team in the home’s main reception area, where they can enjoy welcome drinks and canapés before exploring a variety of activities taking place throughout the afternoon. There will be live music from West End performer George Ritchie and harpist Jane Croucher, and the opportunity to get a fun personalised portrait drawn live by Dave’s Caricatures. After the ceremonial ribbon cutting announcing the home officially open, visitors will have the opportunity to take a tour around Eggleton House’s spacious and beautifully furnished facilities, including the cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub, and chat to Home Manager Clare Hedge. Guests attending the official opening can enjoy tasters of the meals on the residents’ menu, specially prepared by the head chef, along with food stations available throughout the home. Clare said: “We’ve had such a warm and positive response from locals since we opened the doors to Eggleton House in July – we already feel like part of the community! “We’re delighted to be marking our official opening and to be able to celebrate with our neighbours, residents’ relatives and special guests. We can’t wait to show everyone the welcoming, friendly atmosphere we’ve created here.” Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, Eggleton House incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
