There was a time when learning about people in different countries and cultures was confined to reading text books and looking at pictures. But how much can you really find out about a whole way of life by just reading a few pages in a book.
Wouldn't it be so much better if you could talk directly to people you are learning about, see their classrooms, their faces, their clothes; ask them questions and listen to them telling you stories about their lives?
In one of our local schools this has now become possible thanks to the power of Skype.
