The BioMedTech Company of the Year award is given to the biomedtech company that has made the most commercial progress in the last 12 months. The final candidates were Axol Bioscience, Cambridge Epigentix, Endomagnetics, Horizon Discover, Iceni Diagnostics,  LinkChina Pharma Solutions,  MedImmune, Owlstone and  XO1.

Nic Rumsey of Haverhill Research Park said in presenting the award to Horizon Discovery: “I am delighted for Horizon Discovery. It is preparing for a March IPO on the AIM market and has become a significant success for the Cambridge life science cluster. A leader in genome editing and a pioneer of personalised medicine, Horizon has posted phenomenal growth in 2013.

“Haverhill Research Park is happy to have sponsored the award in order to champion the best BioMedTech companies in Cambridge and the wider region.”

The Business Weekly Awards were started in 1990 to recognise champion companies ahead of the curve in a variety of categories and they create a feel good factor for their staff, investors, and customers, while generating new business potential through the publicity received in Business Weekly’s online and print publications.
