I am writing to thank everyone at St Nicholas Hospice Care involved with the care of my husband whilst he was an inpatient and during home care until his death.
Everyone he met in the Hospice gave of themselves: the domestic staff, caterers, trained nurses, outreach team, specialist nurses, the chaplaincy, physio/occupational therapists, doctors of all grades and volunteers. He said how wonderful it was to be given a morning shave so carefully and attentively. The dangers in making a list is missing someone out, but really everyone gave over and above their remit, making his two-week stay in the Hospice much more comfortable and, yes, enjoyable.
My husband's family and young grandchildren were also made most welcome and relaxed in the facilities provided in the family room.

On behalf of the family we thank you most sincerely for ensuring that my husband's last few weeks were made more comfortable, especially being able to control pain relief, and enjoy his family and friends being with him at home, calling in for five minutes or longer depending on how he was feeling.
You all enabled him to be in control of his life and, when he was ready, he ‘let go the helm’ and sailed into a very peaceful end.
Thank you all so much.

"I can never repay the Hospice for all they done for my mum. They made it possible for her to have her wish and to pass away with dignity at home with her family. I will always be very grateful to you all. Thank you."
