Care UK’s Woodland Hall will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
It will be a foodie’s dream as food trucks offer tasty treats. From 2pm–5pm on Friday 7th August, the care home will be transformed into an oasis of different tastes, cultures and traditions, including Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Indian, English, Greek and Caribbean. Guests can also enjoy family-friendly entertainment.
Resident I.D., 93, said: “I’m really looking forward to A Taste of Home; I want four tickets so I can invite my friends! Pasta is my favourite, so I’m especially excited to try the Italian food, but I’lldefinitely be having a little bit of everything. I’ve already invited my daughter, and if there’s Prosecco, we’llhave a ball.”
The events is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
