In 1931 the Willesden and Brondesbury Auxiliary area was expanded to create the Middlesex North West Branch of the RSPCA. Today its boundaries extend as far as Paddington in the east, Chorleywood to the west, Watford, Radlett and St Albans to the north and South Ruislip and Acton to the south. The earliest remaining Branch committee meeting minutes date back to the 1st of April 1947 when the Branch was in the process of resurrecting itself after the war.\r\rDuring the 1950’s and 1960’s the husband and wife team of Norman and Doris Beecroft were Chairman and Secretary of the Branch. In 1970 when Mrs Beecroft retired as Secretary, Hilary Anyon took on this role. Ten years later she was joined by her husband Alan who then became Branch Chairman.\r\rIn 1982 the main Society closed its animal home, The Mayhew Home, in Willesden.
