Businesses in Wetherby have been praised for their support of the Prince's Trust this year, especially when Paul Powell and a group of friends hosted a Summer Party.

The party was organised to raise funds for the Prince's Trust Development Awards Programme and was deemed a great success. Paul even received a personal message from HRH, The Prince of Wales!

Paul, who is a Prince's Trust volunteer business mentor, commented: “The sun shone, the auction was tremendous, and everyone danced the night away.

“The total raised on the night was £13,080, which will help scores of young people turn their lives around by obtaining training or employment in Yorkshire and Humberside, the area in which I works as a volunteer business mentor.”

“We would particularly like to thank all the local businesses who supported so generously, including Dispesh Mistry from Barclays Bank, Jane Twaites for masterminding the floral table decorations, Nigel Twaites, the auction ‘supremo’, and James and Betsy who gave willingly their time and expertise.”
