Free Art Friday is a movement that is happening all over the world for years!

Artists leave their artwork in public for people to take.

How it works:

  • Create artwork, it can be any size, but small and portable is best
  • Label it - 'free art, to take home and enjoy" (optional - include your name, email or website)
  • Place somewhere in public - can be indoors or outdoors, in and around Harrogate
  • You can choose to leave clues if you want on social media
  • Anyone can join in!

For more info about the movement, visit the Free Art Friday Facebook Page

Harrogate has it's very own Free Art Friday Movement stared by Jayne from Fanni Loves Fufu.

So, if you do any form of crafts, arts or more, why not join the movement?

This is a wonderful way to help the community learn about art, be inspired to do art as well as raise awareness of our local artists.  Children and adults will love finding art around town, make sure to take a picture and post it on the Harrogate Free Art Facebook page!

These are wonderful gifts, which are given freely.  Good Karma!

If you are unable to drop your own artwork around town, you can send it to Jayne - either jpegs of work that can be printed on 300gsm paper to save on postage or delivery, or post to her address, or drop off, but email first.  Jayne and her team will prepare the art/craft ready to be 'dropped'. It's popped into rainproof cello packaging and labelled with who Harrogate Free Art Fridays are, and how to find them on Facebook and also who the donor of the work is. They encourage people to come to the page and show them a picture of themselves with their finds! Some folk do and some don't, the art work always disappears though!

The distribution of artwork is done by volunteers, perhaps you are able to help?

Whether you are an artist or an art lover, make sure to support this awesome community movement!
