Entrance to the Gardens include:

  • Adventure Playground – climbing frames, swings, bridges
  • Pedalo boats
  • ‘Tarantella’ dancing water
  • Miniature train ride (extra cost)
  • Art & Sculpture

If you are feeling hungry, you can either bring a picnic, go to the restaurant (who can cater to your dietary needs).  The Railway shop offers drinks and snacks.  They have also got a gift shop and a plant shop.

Newby Hall & Gardens are delighted to announce their new Teddy Bear Exhibition, it’s Gyles Brandreth’s Teddy Bear collection, do look out for the teddy bear picnics being planned throughout the year.

There is also a Dollshouse Exhibition, with over 70 to look at, located near the Garden Restaurant, and the Matombo Exhibition (sculpture which is from the artistic culture of Zimbabwe) running from June to August 2016.

Newby Hall is the family home of Mr & Mrs Richard Compton, with its 18th century interior decor, it is one of the finest Adam houses in England.  It was built in the 1690s by Sir Christopher Wren and was later enlarged and adapted by John Carr and subsequently by Robert Adam.
