Herriot's unique brand of hospice care is delivered wherever people call home, including care homes and nursing homes across the district.

Herriot's services are free of charge to those who need them, and include :

• End of life care at home provided by a team of  specially trained Herriot Healthcare assistants;
• Bereavement support, helping children, young people and adults express and understand their grief in a safe and confidential space;
• Volunteer befriending, offering companionship, a listening ear and practical and emotional support to people living at home with terminal illness;
• Volunteer-led driving service to help people attend appointments;
• Respite-sitting, to help family and carers to take a break from caring, reassured that their friend or loved one has the support and companionship of a trained Herriot volunteer

Herriot Hospice Homecare's range of services help people stay in the comfort and safety of their own home for as long as possible, surrounded by the people and things that matter most to them.

It costs Herriot almost £1 million every year to provide these vital services to local families, and as an independent local charity, Herriot relies upon the generosity of the community to continue caring.

People choose to support the charity in many ways, including holding fundraising events, making a donation, shopping in our stores across the district and donating high quality items for sale in these shops, as well as volunteering time and skills to make a difference. Herriot is always keen to hear from individuals and businesses who would like to find out more about the rewarding ways to get involved.

Our normal office hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. A 24 hour answer phone is in operation which is regularly accessed outside of office hours.
