On Friday 7th August, Care UK’s Milner House will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection. 

Summer celebrations will be in full swing from 2.30pm–4.30pm. Visitors and residents can expect to work up an appetite enjoying the live entertainment by Paul Stanworth, who will be playing the classics from the 70s and 80s, tapping their feet away to top tunes. 

The afternoon of flavour at the Ermyn Way home will be completed by a selection of delicious dishes from all over the world. 

Chanuka Kaluthanthri Patabendi, Home Manager at Milner House, said: “Our food festival promises to be a memorable day for everyone who comes along.    

“At Milner House, we’re home to residents and team members from a wonderfully diverse range of cultures. This event is a chance to celebrate them through food, showcasing flavours from France, India, South Africa and plenty more! Many are favourites of ours, so we can’t wait for guests to try.” 

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the countryhost foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipesto seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
