The Beautiful South Awards For Excellence recognise outstanding achievements and services in tourism. This year, the shortlist includes Two Hoots Campsite in Hampshire, Beaulieu Enterprises Ltd also in Hampshire, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and Surrey's very own Watts Gallery in Compton just outside Guildford. As many of you will already know, the Watts Gallery houses not only the largest collection of GF Watts' work but also displays work by other renowned artists in its outstanding exhibitions. The trustees of the Watts Gallery also look after the exceptional chapel in Compton Cemetery.
The winners of the Beautiful South Awards will be announced on 28 November at Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey. This promises to be a very exciting evening with so many high-calibre tourist venues vying for awards in the various categories. This year sees a Pub of the Year category included for the first time. The evening event will be hosted by Tourism South East (TSE) with Toby Anstis presenting the awards.
