This afternoon of Christmas entertainment takes place at St James Concert Hall in St Peter Port on Sunday 16th December 2018 from 3.00pm.
In the first half professional soloists join conductor Alan Gough, Orchestra Leader Sarah van Vlyman and the Choir and Orchestra in Dvorak’s Te Deum and Chris Claxton’s Dunamis. Dunamis is a choral work especially commissioned by GCOS to celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2018.
Written by local composer Chris Claxton, it is packed full of drama and lovely melodies and is sure to entertain. The second half of the concert is full of Christmas Joy with the GCOS Children’s Choir, full chorus, orchestra and audience all coming together to provide a concert full of seasonal Christmas cheer including Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh-Ride and Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols.
Father Christmas enjoys these concerts so much he has promised to keep his diary free for these concert nights. Something for all the family to enjoy and a chance to get into the festive mood.
