The local, annual, fundraising triathlon event TRI-ULTIMATE returns for it's third year on 27th September 2015. Run by local charity Hope for a Child, to help fund its charitable works in Malawi in east Africa, the event has raised a total of £30,200 over the past two years.
Three top local cricketers have committed to climbing Mont Blanc in the first of a series of annual fundraising challenges that the local team will be undertaking.
The annual Night Ride event, backed and organised by Healthspan and the Guernsey Bicycle Group, is introducing a shorter family-friendly route for 2015, yet still has the more arduous longer routes for those seeking a challenge.
The 2015 Specsavers Youth Games take place at Footes Lane on 13th June. This biennial inter-parish competition encourages year five and six primary school children to compete in sports they have not tried before, with a focus on fun and fair play.
The Guernsey Sports Commission will be receiving £66,000 over the next three years to support delivery of the Street Sports programme from 2015 until 2017, a community initiative that offers local youths the chance to take part in sport in their own neighbourhoods.
Last Saturday 377 local riders cycled a combined total of 10,500 miles and raised £9,000 for two local charities.
The Guernsey Bicycle Group is organising another NightRide after the inaugural event last year was so successful and popular.The first NightRide last year saw over 300 local cyclists raise more than £7,000 for charity by riding around the moonlit roads of the island one evening.
Guernsey's triathlon event is back for another year on Sunday 7th September 2014 to raise funds for local charity Hope for a Child.
